This first unit of the course considers the traditional electricity grid in the UK. This is an important starting point as the traditional grid is our heritage and the starting point for conversion into a smart grid. This unit focuses on power generation methods, transmission and distribution along with key industry players and legacy issues that the grid presents the 21st century with.

Paul’s specialisms include management, company direction, energy efficiency and renewable infrastructures. Paul acts as an ambassador to the Institute of Directors and is a member of the IET. In 2016 Paul was awarded the Institute of Directors' “New Chartered Director” title and is a fellow of the IoD.
