This unit describes what a safety case is, potential benefits of developing a safety case, how to put one together and how to make good use of it.
By the end of this unit you will be able to:

• Understand the role of the safety case
• Explain the content of the safety case
• Plan the development and maintenance of a safety case
This unit is suitable for managers, engineers, operators, HSE advisors, risk management practitioners, and anyone else involved in managing risks. Individuals aspiring to hold any of the above types of position will welcome the information and experience contained within the course. Most examples are cross-industry, however some examples are from certain sectors.

Prerequisites: Education, skills or experience equivalent to bachelor degree or equivalent in a relevant science, technology or engineering subject, or 5+ years of relevant work experience, plus proven English language capability.
