LED Lighting - Unit 2: Standards Relevant to LED Lighting and Key Terminology
The terminology used in lighting and LED lighting can often be confusing, therefore in this unit you will learn the definitions of the key terms related both to lighting in general, and LED lighting to further clarify your understanding of the subject. Examples include LED modules, lamps, drivers, colour quality, lumen maintenance, abrupt failure, optical safety, blue light hazard, infrared and ultra violet radiation.All lighting and electrical products should conform with legislation and relevant standards, with LED lighting as no exception to this rule.
In this unit we will discuss the standards specifically related to LED lighting, those that are relevant to lighting in general, and certification showing conformity such as CE marking.
