Unit overview
Radio has been one of the main pillars of telecommunications since the early days, with extensive progress being made over the past 2-3 decades on how we use it to support a wide range of service types. In this unit, the basic concepts of spectrum, frequency use and modulation are explored - laying the foundation for further exploration of radio systems.
By the end of this course you will be able to:

•Illustrate the concept of frequencies and spectrum by the use of frequency domain diagrams – including the concepts of, bandwidth, licensed spectrum and unlicensed spectrum
•Discuss the role of digital modulation and techniques that can be used to modulate the radio signal
This unit is for those new to telecoms or for those requiring a better understanding of telecommunication technologies and networks.
