Unit overview
The main characteristics of a digital system are explored in this unit, focusing on the benefits of digital when compared to analogue. Quality, services and bandwidth are all explored in the digital context, including the key terminology and techniques used to maximise the benefits to the network operator and customer.
By the end of this course you will be able to:

•Compare and contrast digital and analogue systems
•Recognise and state the main benefits of digital systems to the end user and network operator
•Use key terms confidently when describing digital systems and signals
•Use an understanding of the relationship between data rate and bandwidth when assessing the requirements of digital systems
