Humans have a range of basic sensory capabilities that can be related directly to Human Factors design decisions for CAVs. In this unit we will outline each of the most relevant senses, discuss the fundamental human abilities and limitations and then explain their significance to CAV design, for example related to displays within/outside the vehicle.
