What you will learn
• Understand the key definitions of Human Factors and HCI (an important related discipline) and how/why they differ
• Appreciate how HF/HCI are influenced by a range of related disciplines
• Comprehend some key concepts associated with HF, including the systems approach, human-machine interface design and human-centred design
• Realise the importance of Human Factors, including both the positive and negative arguments as to why they should be considered by designers
• Discuss some of the prevailing issues that concern those working in these disciplines – including the fundamental issues specific to CAVs that will be covered throughout the module
Who should learn
The course is aimed at anyone at any level interested in the how the human integrates as part of the CAV system. This course will be of interest to anyone keen to understand more about human capabilities and challenges in the development of CAVs and user interfaces.
