Connected and Autonomous Vehicles: Connectivity Unit 2 - Vehicle telematics
This unit introduces the basic concepts of vehicle telematics. The material in the unit covers aspects of sensor equipment and functionality in vehicles. A significant part of the unit is dedicated to in-car computer networks like Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. Furthermore it presents in significant detail what a Global Positioning System (GPS) is and how to use it alongside other similar positioning systems. At the end of the unit, some privacy concerns are raised and relevant policies mentioned for reference.
