Unit 3: Digital Innovation

This unit will explain how digital innovation differs from our existing conceptions of innovation. We will explore digital innovation in project-based industries and the relationship between innovation and projects. By using the built environment as an example of a project-based sector, we will reflect on digital innovation in the construction industry and discuss a few examples.

By the end of this unit, you will:

  • Understand the nature of digital innovation as opposed to existing definitions of product innovation or process innovation.
  • Understand the relationship between innovation and uncertainty.
